Humans are always making decisions between greed and love, hoarding and sharing. All these little decisions add up. Too many greedy decisions and you end up surrounded by stuff but nobody you can trust.
Maybe what we’re going through is another generation's opportunity to realize that greed does not make you happy. And a country based on greed can never be a happy place. I just started reading The United States Governed by Six Hundred Thousand Despots: A True Story of Slavery by Harriet Jacob's brother, John Swanson Jacobs. Oh my goodness! The title says it all. I think there’s a reason this manuscript is reappearing now. Our ancestors are taking care of us.
